"No Tricks-Or-Treats For Me.": Why More Kids Are Choosing NOT To Celebrate Halloween

Halloween is 1 DAY AWAY and while costumes and trick-or-treating are beloved traditions, some kids and families are choosing to skip the festivities in favor of healthy alternatives that boast clean fun!
In recent years, fewer kids and their families have been participating in Halloween traditions like trick-or-treating. In 2022, only about 69% of Americans planned to celebrate Halloween. Factors like safety, health concerns and alternative celebrations have contributed to this shift, especially as families look for ways to enjoy the season in healthier, more controlled environments like at The Fall Festival, which centers around creating memorable moments rather than candy and scares.

Other clean and fun activities include:
Adventure Walks: Some kids are going on neighborhood nature walks or hikes, making it a fun way to explore the outdoors and stay active.
Harvest Parties: Instead of the usual trick-or-treating, harvest-themed parties are popping up! Kids enjoy fall-inspired games, bobbing for apples, pumpkin bowling and even taste-testing their favorite fruits and veggies.
Creative Crafts & Pumpkin Decorating: Swapping out scary scenes for creative crafts, many are painting pumpkins, exploring corn mazes or making their own autumn decorations to display at home.
Choosing a different way to celebrate helps kids create their own traditions that are all about having fun, staying active and enjoying healthy treats.
